Charlotte Pleasants is an Australian born, New Zealand raised director, producer and actor. She is one of the founding members of Alchemy Theatre, an international Paris based theatre company with whom she is co-directing and co-producing The Taming of the Shrew this July. Charlotte previously produced and performed with Cygnet Theatre, notably: Benvolio (Romeo and Juliet, 2021), Goneril (Lear, 2020), Sir Toby Belch (Twelfth Night, 2019) and Hermia (A Midsummer Night's Dream, 2018). Charlotte is the artistic director of Tapis Théâtre, a bi-annual Paris based scratch night, she was also a part of the team producing the Paris Fringe. Whilst studying in New Zealand Charlotte trained with the theatre company The Bacchanals. Charlotte is a graduate of the theatre studies program at Victoria University of Wellington. The Taming of the Shrew is Charlotte’s debut as a director.
