The High-Tech Intermission is the show where host Tarek Diouri–Adequin takes you through what’s pop and what’s hot in the realm of technology. He doesn’t know everything, he just knows what he knows and because of that, he’s got guests who help him to break down interesting stories going on in the world of technology.

For this final episode of the High-Tech Intermission, host Tarek Diouri–Adequin gets to look back on some of the episodes of the show and gives you an outlook on the future trends of the world of technology that will get people talking.

He notably tackles the topics of AI in arts, the bans of various forms of online content for children, the creation of data centers in France, before quickly going over some of the topics he believes will matter very soon, including betting and robots.

Episode 5 : The social media ban for minors and a perspective from Down Under

Does “banning” social media for minors under 15 years old serve as an endgame or as a starting point for a wider discussion to be held? In this episode of the High-Tech Intermission, host Tarek Diouri–Adequin is joined by Jennifer Branch-Allen, president of the Australian Parents Council, to talk about a social media ban expected to be instated in France in late 2026.

Jennifer brings a much needed perspective on what the reality of this ban could be like, as Australia launched its own ban for minors under 16 in December 2025. She shares some of the concrete effects of the “ban” and debates its finality, as Tarek contextualizes the ban proposal in France.

As the New Year dawns upon us, should we fear the increased presence of AI in workplaces? In this episode of the High-Tech Intermission, host Tarek Diouri–Adequin discusses the practical issues and fantasies surrounding the place of AI in French companies.

Caroline Chopinaud, head of the Hub France IA association, and Arnaud Billon, a researcher for IBM France and member of the “techno-réalistes” movement, provided their analysis on generative AI, and deciphering whether this tool can become a threat.

Has high-tech taken over the world of art, or has it always been a staple of creation? In this episode of the High-Tech Intermission, host Tarek Diouri–Adequin gives you an overview of the Art Basel Paris exhibition, focusing on the pieces which involved technology of all kinds.

Tarek asked questions to many of the artists, gallerists and exhibitors who attended the art show, striving to see what pushed those creatives to use technology, and how important their presence at the exhibition was for the future of artistry.

Is it already too late for the education system to work in synergy with artificial intelligence? In this episode of the High-Tech Intermission, host Tarek Diouri–Adequin analyzes the place AI now holds in the French education ecosystem, in spite of some of the risks associated to its use.

Tarek is joined by Evann Hislers, author of the “L’IA pour les Étudiants” guide, and Deborah Elalouf, president of Tralalere, a company overseeing Internet Sans Crainte, the national digital education program for the youth and their families.

How far down the realm of art can technology take us? In this introductory episode of the High-Tech Intermission, host Tarek Diouri–Adequin is joined by Ada Ackerman, researcher at the CNRS and co-curator of the World Through AI exhibition, taking place at the Jeu de Paume until September 21.

The show explores the historical, social, ecological and cultural themes showcased throughout the exhibition, vibrant with new ideas based on – but also made by – the technologies of the present and the near-future.
