“Color is the defining element in my work and a common thread throughout my portfolio. I create abstract patterns using line and color, or dramatic portraits with extreme hues. Both drawing and painting are key in my work, and I aim to unite the two in my pieces.”
Anna Gillis was born and raised in the U.S. in California. She attended Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, where she studied Studio Art and Graphic Design. Following college, she moved to New York City where she worked for a fine art gallery. In 2019, she moved to Paris, where she currently lives and works.
